Business sector to contribute 65-70% of Viet Nam’s GDP by 2025

The business sector is expected to its contribution to Viet Nam’s GDP from current 60 percent to around 65-70 percent by 2025.

The Government has recently issued a Resolution on major policies and measures to support enterprises in a bid to ensure the nation’s faster recovery and sustainable development till 2025.

By 2025, the Government targets to raise the number of enterprises to 1.5 million while 8,000-10,000 business households will convert into enterprises.

The business sector will contribute 30-35 percent of employment whilst making up 98-99 percent of the total export turnover.

Remarkably, Viet Nam aims to increase by 10 percent of the number of Vietnamese businesses in the world’s most valuable brands list each year.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Viet Nam has approximately 900,000 operational businesses.

More than 97 percent are small and medium-sized enterprises that contribute up to 45 percent of the national GDP and 31 percent of the total budget collection. Together, these companies employ over 5 million laborers.
